Rifle Scopes NXS 2.5-10x24: NP-R1 reticle not available?

Re: NXS 2.5-10x24: NP-R1 reticle not available?

R1 would be total clutter in that compact scope. I don't even care for it in a 3.5 version. Like the 5.5 version much better !

just my .02

I do run the 2.5-10x32 and love it on one of my coyote rigs. HV reticle

But for Kevin at High Caliber Sales (a site sponsor here), I am not aware of anyone who can get the 2.5-10x24 model any longer as they have been discontinued for civilian sales...that said, you are correct that it was never offered with the NP-R1.

I have used the NP-R2 reticle in several NF scopes and I like it very much. It is simple, easy to use, and is a good fit in the compact scopes as it does not clutter up the view through the scope, and works well for me, including using the reticle for holdovers. It just lacks the finer/smaller detail of the NP-R1 (2MOA vs. 1MOA elevation hash marks).

I may go that way. I've been all over the place with scopes. Mostly 15 or more magnifacation, but after seeing a Nightforce 5.5x22x56 at our range I'm beginning to think it's way to big for my 16" barrel AR15.

I am looking at US Optics SN3 but with the options I'd want it's probably going to more than I'm willing to pay.

Re: NXS 2.5-10x24: NP-R1 reticle not available?

I have a NF 2.5-10x24 with the NP-R2 reticle. The reticle is very good for most shooting. Thin, accurate, and not at all cluttered. It's thin enough that the reticle is easy to lose in cluttered environments with less than perfect light unless it is illuminated.
