According to a friend who spent the last year working on the movie, those aren't spoilers. The featurette just gives you a bit more detail on the story without revealing new plot points, twists and turns that the trailer doesn't already.

The style of the film is totally Joe Kosinski. He's a former 3D artist turned director, coming from an architectural background. When I look at the design of the bubble ship, it reminds me so much of his earlier work. For example, around 2006 when he was directing commercials he collaborated with the guys at Speedshape to do this spec car commercial:

I really wish they would have gotten someone else to star in it then Tom Cruse. I cant stand that guy!
