Did an ocw test at 100 yards today with my sotic and my friend did the same with his tikka tac a1. All loads are rl-16 .030 off the lands with Hornady brass, br-2 primers and 140 eld-m. Trying to decide where to go from here on both guns. I’m thinking I should look at seating depth with 40.8 gr on the sotic and 42.4 gr on the tikka. I attached two 5 shot groups we shot of factory Hornady 140gr eldm after we got done doing the ocw test. None of the loads showed signs of pressure, not trying to hot rod them either. @Skookum

I would re-shoot your test and load .2g apart not .4
You might be missing a node and jumping over them.
Easier to see if your .2 apart. Don't change anything other than that.
Shoot a 4 shot group. You seem to be pulling 1 shot sometimes
so 2 shots won't tell you as much. But if you pull one and still have 3 for a group
then better to see whats going on.

The nodes should be ~1.2 grains apart so .2 or .3 gr is a better increment. Looking at the Sotic it looks like 41.2 to 41.6 may be bracketing a node . The Tikka target unfortunately is not really giving me much to go on. If 41.2 to 41.6 has a node it should work in both rifles with minor tweaking. Unfortunately I don’t shoot the Creedmores so I have no idea where the nodes are with this bullet/powder combo.
