I know, not another one of these threads after “that” other one. Just got done shooting my OCW for my 6bra. Shooting 110gr smk .010” off the lands with varget, and my target velocity was 2850fps. Don’t really pay attention to the 29.0gr load too much, one was seated .042” off the lands while setting up my widden seater, oops. The data is from a magnetospeed in a wiser precision mount so it didn’t affect poi with the groups. Should I go solely off of sd/es and fine tune with seating depth, or should I pay any attention to the groups shot?

29.3

29.2 and 29.4 both hit in the same location relative to the aim point.
Both groups already look good so unless I was feeling a wild hare I’d skip the seating depth maybe.

I’d want to verify at distance though before loading up a few hundred of em.

I had to run some numbers in my calculator, it’s funny because I didn’t care to chase velocity in my 6.5 creed. The difference between 2750 and 2825 is pretty negligible. That’s one of the spots I was thinking along with 29.8-30.2 but the sd/es was slightly more.

Honestly those all look capable. The br cases make it tough to tell because they just shoot everything so well so easily.

Put 10 of one charge up against 10 of the other at 500 and see if one pulls ahead.

I agree that something around 29.3 looks good to me.

I'd load a few from 29.2 - 29.5 to verify and maybe see how wide that node might be.

I would be interested if you were starting to run into a higher node at 30.8, but if you don't care about the extra velocity then it doesn't matter.

Nearly every one of those groups is 4 in and 1 out. If you're confident that wasn't you or the rifle setup, then I would play with seating depth to see if you can't tune that out.

Assuming 29.3 is a node, there should be nodes around 30 and 31. Look at groups and POI shift between loads. 5 shot standard deviation is not statistically significant. ES is more meaningful for low shot counts. Most of yours are very good.

The groups are probably me, it was pretty windy and the target had a little movement in it. I’d start out good with each group pretty much in one hole then slightly toss the next two. I may try seating depth with small dots instead of the squares so I have a more precise hold.
