    So,

I ordered a cross hair reticle for my AN/PVS-4 Gen III unit.

It was not a simple crosshair, OR a mildot. It's something else entirely... and I'd love to know how to use it! (What the offsets are, etc.)

    Thoughts? Documents? ...anything.

(Oh, and the last item is not related... I just didn't want to create another thread... I think it's a 44 Automag casing made on a 308 FC Win shell)

Oh yeah, as usual, I can't get me camera to deal with the variation of having the reticle in the image. Looks great without it... blury otherwise.

I just purchased a "Forward Observer" reticle (SM-D-850494-9). It's a simple mil dot (no surprises) reticle; there are some on eBay right now (item 140537747481) from STANO Night Vision in Virginia City, NV. It will work in either a PVS-4 or TVS-5, but there is a difference in magnification so the dots are not 1 mil apart in the TVS-5.

Checked it out.... no numbers on it... nothing to identify it.

Just a silver tube with an idex on it.

Thanks for that... I picked up one of those from Stano. So the marks are 1 MIL apart in a PVS-4?
