I seem to recall years ago Oehler made what they called a Ballistic Lab that used strain gauges, a chrono and a laptop pc. Is it still available, has anyone used or does anyone use one and if so, what do you think of it?
It sounds as if you are refering to the model 43 Personal Ballistics Laboratory which uses the three model 57 screens and proof channel. This system uses an acoustic downrange target for recording points of impact as well as time of flight which can calculate B.C. The strain gauge is an option and can be run without it.
I have used this system extensively with great results. It is an ideal tool for load developement.
