Off Topic - Google Android Tablet

I'm thinking about getting one. I'll be going to college, and It would be useful for school, and just fun to mess around on. Does anyone have one? How do you like it? Is there a SMS/ Texting app for it?

A buddy of mine bought the color Nook from Barnes and Noble and hacked it for me and put the Android OS on it. Works great and is significantly cheaper than the other Android tablets.

We're sorta partial here, to the Entourage Edge. There is also a 'Pocket' version, but check it/them out. They do alot.

Does your nook dual boot or does Android boot from a Micro SD card?

It basically bypasses the Nooks bootup and just boots up in the Android platform. You still have all the Nook function as it is all still there but it's Android that it boots up to.

I should note that we do not know yet what it will do if they push an update to the Nook device. I'm sure it will break it and then it will have to be hacked again...

And, sorry - it does not boot from the Micro SD. I have one in the tablet but only because some of the apps needed the SD card to store data to, otherwise everything was contained on the Nook itself.

Well, I've used it for a few days, I'm really liking it. Great internet speed, alright processor speed, not as good as apple, but great for the money.
