Oh, Ja Du? No Ja Don't!

Tuk-tuk is Thai. In the Tagalog a Motorcycle is motorsiklo and if for hire it is a hable-hable.

Thai? Well, why didn't you say so? That makes everything different.

From the link:

Du was born Adam Wheeler and grew up loving Filipino food and culture -- so much so Du now identifies as Filipino, even driving a purple motorized rickshaw Du called a Tuk Tuk, an Asian-derived vehicle used for public transit in the Philippines.

“Whenever I’m around the music, around the food, I feel like I’m in my own skin,” Du told WTSP. “I’d watch the History Channel sometimes for hours, you know, whenever it came to that and, you know, nothing else intrigued me more but things about Filipino culture.”

The comments make Du a member of a small, but growing, community of people who consider themselves transracial -- meaning to be born one race but identify with another.

What, no love for the Tryc's or Jeepney's?

I saw the interview with Tucker. Seems to be basically conservative on most views. I think he may be pulling our leg for a little fame and entertainment.

Walking across shit river for liberty in 'po city. Memories!

Right across shit river there is no fun a anymore. But if you go just a bit down the road to the beach in Bario Baritto (sp?) there is still some shadows of what you remember. In the former Subic Base http://www.oceanadventure.ph/experience-the-adventure/animal-encounters/swim-with-dolphins/ and a tiger reserve, I took my kids there for a week last summer and they had a great time swimming with the Dolphins.
