Recently, I was given a can of Dupont 4198. Still in the cellophane wrapper. This was what the M16 was supposed to use for powder in the M193 cartridges. It burns a lot cleaner than any ball powders.

The powder would be worthless in the can might as well shoot it.

The can in its condition is what has the greater value for a collectible.

Idk....I would be worried about how it was stored. Even with the wrapper, no telling what kind of vapor it was exposed to...

But that’s just me....I’m overly cautious ?
It's alright, I got it from a guy I know who bought it new. It's been stored in a cool basement it's entire life.

Correct! And, I have a li'l 25-20 that needs a ton of attention. Just wish I was out in Nevada killing jackrabbits with it.:cool:

Your the first person I’ve heard mention that caliber outside of family. My dad has a lever with an octagon barrel that’s damned old. Shot my first deer with it?
