Sidearms & Scatterguns Old Gov't .45 no manufacturer??

Came across an older model gov't .45 and need some help identifying it.

No manufacturer name.
Has beavertail safety.
Has lanyard loop.
Serial# says: NO15161** with the first "1" laying on its side.
Proof mark of "13" on the trigger guard.

No other identifiable marks found.

Any help or suggestions is appreciated!

Sorry BR I tried to take a couple pics with my phone but they didn't come out worth a sh*t. I will try to take some pics with my camera this coming week and post them. I did find a website that lists serial numbers and it appears it could be a 1944 built by Remington.

Could be a parts gun of some kind...there should still be some manufacturer's markings on the frame though. Does it look like it's possibly been refinished?
