Is there any place to find the "tried and true" method of securing the ends of the old delta tourniquets or cravats that were worn around the neck of soldiers (saw them utilized heavily in Desert storm particularly. Seems the shemagh has replaced it by and large). All of the searching I have done results in a sales pitch for a new tourniquet or how to tie a formal cravat.

Taking it for what it is worth, I saw one in a movie that looked like it had been duct taped into a point on one end and the other duct taped into a loop, almost creating a slip knot type setup.

Any thanks would be appreciated!

What we did was you need a windless. Grenade pins, 550 cord or zip ties. Tie the cravat with one of these already on it. Then tie a windless of some kind on(stick, metal bar, ive even used the bolt carrier). Turn the windless with the turniquet 2 inches or so above the joint. Never use it on a double bone, always on upper extremity. Turn it untiil you kill the pulse. Then lock the windless with a zip tie. The windless will create a knot over the artery in the best circumstances creating a pressure point on the artery.

Thanks Doc...but as far as the actual triangular "Delta Bandage" it was just left with the edges unaltered? (Looking just like an oversized handkerchief basically).
