Deep in the woods
Hi. I know just a little on older AI and I have been interested in buying one just for owning a piece of history. There is an AI on Gunbroker that has caught my eye. I will post the link at the end of the thread. It has the rounded end on the bolt assembly with a non folding green stock. Is there a way to determine the year of this model? My AI has the year of manufacture prior to serial number. I couldn’t make it out on my phone. What are your thoughts on this rifle? Appreciate any input.

Ok great. That would be a good price for me. I will keep an eye on it. Just want to dip my toes into the older ones. When I starred shooting AIs the AW was the current model and the AX was the new kid on the block. Bought an AX and I haven’t looked back. However, as I gotten older, I have started to appreciate older equipment.

If you want to go older, I'd suggest saving your money and waiting for another AW to come along if this one pushes $2k or more.

An AW folder in the 2.0 configuration with the dovetail mount.....

Ok. Thanks. What does the AW currently run?

MH & EO sometimes have LE trade ins that are are well used but in the low $3k mark depending on the configuration.

Otherwise AWs, tend to be similar in price to the AT when you find them for sale.

The AWSM versions (.300wm / .338LM) fetch a fairly decent premium depending on the configuration they are in, usually going more in the AX price range.
