Oliver North to Become New President of NRA

That should be interesting, I'm guessing he will know how to deal with a lot of political stuff.
That guy has been around the block a few times & probably understands the dirty tricks the democrats pull better than a lot of others.

You're a good guesser. Ollie is a great choice in my humble opinion. What the swamp did to him during Iran Contra was pathetic. Fall guy. Well spoken, has presence, smart. Always been a fan.

Good for them and good for him, I have long been a fan of the Colonel, but they still need LaPierre to retire. The President of the NRA is just a figurehead and a face; it's the CEO that holds all the influence and calls all the shots, and LaPierre has been in that position and fucked up too many situations in the past for the NRA to move forward in its efforts of influencing politicians to protect our rights.

You make a great point. The NRA has been one of thee greatest wastes of influence/protection we've got, for a long long time. I'm no fan boy of them, but they aren't my enemy, therefore I support them. Just like our President. You don't have to agree with everything he says or does, but he's my President and I support him. Period.

Well the left can't find shit to go after the NRA about, otherwise we would of heard it. No larceny, bribery, embezzlement. Just straight up in their grills. Say whatever you want about lapierre but he has kept his nose clean, I do mean he hasn't t brown nosed anybody. Don't think the media and the jakassed celebrities wouldn't squawk like chickens if there was dirt to be mined.

The shit the left does fling at the NRA is school children, really, is that it? Well that parade of fools has left town, every town.

The NRA is involved with a hundred political campaigns across the country, a shitload of court cases across the country in every state. They send out more calls to action than I have ever seen from any other gun rights group in my lifetime. They're not perfect, but the days of the fudds being in the NRA are over, want proof? I am a newly rejoined member, agree with 1j and Redman, they are still acting like the 2nd exists to protect skeet shooters and not the absolute right to defend ourselves from enemies foreign and domestic. GOA and NAGR are more my speed, I joined all three since Trump was elected.

I just wanted to say you are not alone as I support both as well. Not sure what part of California you are in but I am in what some consider the heart of anti-gun country in San Francisco. The irony is there are lots of folks who own guns but just don't talk about them nor join groups that support their rights.

IMHO The NRA really needs to reach out to these untapped supporters who can help politically by voting... same goes for the CRPA who is weak in this part of the state.

Ok off my soapbox... I am just a bit fired up after listening to a news item that basically said the NRA is anti-black... obviously they did not see some of the speakers at Dallas.

Cheers

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I somewhat like the guy's history, but I don't know enough about how he feels today. Does he come with any other baggage other than what we know about?

I wish him the best of luck.

I still remember when he told congress that he was shredding documents while they were in his front office waiting to see him. The look of incredulity on their faces was a moment I won't forget.

Feel bad he was totally fucked over and am glad he seems to be recovered.
