I work for the city of Charleston Illinois (Easter illinois university) and i am currently in charge of installing an automated firing system at our city police training facility. I am going to have the opportunity to play on the range when i get it completed. The range is 50 yards and the fellas shoot AR rifles there quite a bit. I am thinking i need one so i can fit in with the boys. LOL!! Actually i think i kinda just want one. I am thinking a 16" bull barreled carbine with a quad rail would be pretty cool. I could use the rifle for night time coyote hunting here in the fall and winter. Anyway, I have heard some good things about olympic arms barrels, but on the other hand i have herd some not so good things about other areas of there rifles. I actually had one for about two weeks and only got to shoot it once. I got it in a partial trade for a bolt rifle i had, and i quickly sold it to fund another bolt gun. I am not a huge fan of the AR system but now i have an excuse to buy one, i think i might. Whats the scoop on the k-16?? Thanks Lee

Re: Olympic arms K-16??

Lee,

Olympic are hit and miss. Really good or absolutely horrible. I have 4 department guns that are slowly being rebuilt with mil spec parts. I would advise to look elsewhere.

I would give Scott at Specialized Dynamics a call. He will build you a rifle to fit your needs/wants. Scott uses great barrels and makes them run.
