I was really hoping that the Thordsen cover would get a pass. Years ago it was submitted to the Tech Division and they received a letter stating that it was neither a stock nor a brace. Thordsen resubmitted earlier this year, and it was reclassified as a stock.

Let me give a short history lesson about the darling NFA. Wanna know why SBSs and SBRs were even put on the NFA list to begin with? It was due to the hardcore handgun restrictions there were back in the day. People would get around that restriction by cutting their rifles and shotguns short to be similar in size to a pistol. Well guess what? We don't have pistol restrictions anymore, so why are SBSs and SBRs still on the list you ask? Well, the ATF decided to change their tune and said that they don't have a practical sporting purpose so therefore they stay on the list. Obviously they've never shot on a practical/tactical range before.
