Ours (New Orleans Police Department)are G22 with NY triggers. Takes some getting use to at first, but I have been training and shooting with mine since it was issued in 1998. I was not a fan of Tupperware when they decided to issue them, but like anything you train the hell out of on, you get very accustomed to. I have been tainted by Glock, everytime I go to purchase a new pistol I seem to gravitate back to them. Of course from a practical stand point, we are only authorized for G22 and G17(these were authorized for women who had issue with the G22 size and recoil) on duty, and the G23, G27, and 9mm varriants in plain clothes.

I was issued to different 23's with them. Trigger's sucked even more then the regular ones.

G22 is exactly the same frame as a G17, so I highly doubt the G17 is authorized because of its "size" over the G22.
Personally, I'm glad to hear that your department allows 9mm, though, as it'd be my choice if I were in your shoes.

Personally I would just chunk a 9mm, they had their use prior to the 40 S&W. I carried a 92FS for years, I wouldn't go back to it. Enough women complained about size and recoil of the 40 S&W that our Department allowed the G17 and variants for those that chose them. I am aware there is no difference between the G22 and G17 frame, but when you take into account the two together, recoil and size there is a difference. The 9mm is easier on petite wrists.

My department issues Glock 22, 23 & 27 models with the 8lb "S" spring triggers. I switch mine out to the NY trigger. I prefer the NY over the "S" due to the firmer reset the spring applies as well as the smoother overall pull. The "S" spring triggers stack significantly more than the NY spring. The NY spring gives a feel similar to that of a revolver.

My dept. issues the 22 and the 35. The 35's have the 3 1/2 lb trigger. I have shot the NY trigger and I can see the point but Im happy that my dept. doesnt see the reasoning behind them. If Departments would train to put that finger on the frame till its time to shoot the NY trigger would be a mute point.

i dislike the ny trigger sysyem but with enough practice a person will get used to anything. thanks everyone who posted it was just a question that i was interested in again thanks everyone that replyed.

Im not a cop, and I have never played one on TV. I have however played around with a bunch of glock triggers. I keep a box of springs and stuff to play with. I picked up a handfull of department tradeins and they came with all different configuration. The worst one was a 26 that had a NY trigger. I have to agree with my fellow MSU bulldog (i assume), MSU Hunter. Keep your booger hook off of the go bang switch until its time to go bang.
I would recommend joining an IDPA or USPSA club and get lots of trigger time. I know its not the same but it has to be better training than stand and deliver shooting. If your department will not let you train with your duty gun then you should purchase one just like it. Make sure the trigger in yours sucks as bad as the one in you duty gun.

Keep your nasty dick skinners off the trigger until it's bang bang time. End of story.
The reasoning behind the NY style trigger is they were thought to be "safer".
They should have instead invested in better training.
