Have you ever just had one of those days where you just shoot paper like crap? I had that yesterday. I went to the range to sight in my new mk 5 on my custom 300 win, and I could not shoot worth a damn. I’m talking 2inch groups at a hundred yards. Normally if it’s half Moa I’m having a bad day. So I put the 300 to the side and grabbed the 308 which hasn’t ever shot much over moa even during load development. Yup you guessed it about inch and a half two inch groups. So for shits and giggles I walk a four inch gong out to the 400 range 425 yards to be exact, and proceeded to slam it with both rifles. Go figure!

Been there lol. Seems like some days everything goes together.
Seems like it’s easier to focus on the small targets at long range versus the post at 100. Group shooting can get in your head too

switch it up then add something else to break your mind up , try mixing it up try steel targets or golf balls its fun hitting the first time even more fun the second and third the range changes and it makes you figure it out . I thought it was a nice change of pace while hitting horrible groups not to mention figuring out the new range range if it don't just shoot off and disappear or take off like a little rocket going straight up .

In my archery days, I could shoot a 45 out of 50-x on a NFAA Blue and White target, but put up that damned colored (Yellow/Red/Blue) target and I went to crap.
