So this has been a build I have been wanting to do for awhile....This build is actually why I did the Flat top 308 uppers a little while back. just traded into a barrel recently that will work for my testing/proof of concept purposes.

I have had a 223 Dissy for a long time, what I call a true dissy with a rifle length gas system on a 16" barrel. The rifle is a the smoothest AR15 I have....Have wanted to do a 16" 308 version of that for a long time. The carrier is the last piece of the puzzle, and that should be ready to start playing with sometime next week.

I am not the one who chopped it, but I'll be cleaning up the crown and re-profiling it. but for now, it will work to give me something to tune and dial in.

Re: one step closer on a new 308 build

I have a 16" rifle length 308 with TRX handguards. Felt recoil is the same as my 18" mid but the 16 is more straight back with less muzzle climb.

If you want it to be "soft recoiling" think about an adj gas block if I were a picky man that would be my next purchase for my rifle...
