Just finished putting my SWFA SS 16x on a different rifle and turned the turrets in so I can count the clicks and see if I'm going to need a MOA base on this gun. Worked elevation and windage in and back out to a light resistance on each end of travel. Took the elevation cap off to zero on the bottom limit and low and behold when I look through the glass I see two flecks. Emailed SWFA with a picture but no response yet. I guess it's going in for a checkup.

Sorry for the pic being cock-eyed!

Any idea what happened? I asked to consider a trade-in once they fix her up. Maybe a variable at lower power settings, not sure what they will do. I read posts on the hide about the nice trade-in program. We'll see what happens.

Take the scope off the gun and give it a couple stiff whacks against a phone book, there is inevitably small stuff inside from assembly but when you whack it on a phone book it knocks the bits off the lens and they get trapped by grease against the inside of the tube.

It's a ghetto EBR-2B just missing some dots.

That was funny.

Internal debris is difficult to control in scopes with a glass reticle. It can pass inspection with no debris then later, shipping or shooting dislodges a particulate that finds its way to a focal point (in this case the reticle).

It is true that striking the objective on a phone book or the heel of your shoe can dislodge the debris but there is no guarantee that it will not return. We will gladly exchange it for another and I am sure you have already heard this from our customer service.

OUTSTANDING Customer Service from SWFA
even when they shouldn't have to....in my humble opinion!;)
