Gunsmithing Open up 223 bolt face?

I have a 700 VLS in 223 that I've been trying to sell. If I have it re-balleled to something with a 308 size bolt face, how much more would it be to have the bolt face opened up. Would I be better off to sell and purchase something with the correct bolt face or have this one modified?

you could probably sell or trade the bolt. usually $125 to have the bolt face opened up and a sako extractor installed.

Email me, I just purchased 4 Remington 700 bolts and all are 308 size.

I know this is an old thread, but I was thinking about this very thing. Anyone know of a smith that opens up Remington bolt faces from 223 to 308?

You could also buy a bolt from ptg it would probably make the gun shoot better to by tightening up the clearances

For the money, i'd buy a new bolt and then have the option to shoot either. Make a switch barrel setup.

I agree, but I think PTG is the only supplier and they are 8 to 12 weeks out. Looking for a faster option.
