I know this is a loaded question but here goes.I am going to start on a 6.5 creedmore build the first of the year,so what brand of barrel do yall prefer?I have a couple guns with Brux barrels on them and they shoot great.I am thinking 26" fluted and probably.750 at the muzzle.

I prefer Bartlein first because I like their 5R barrels but now that Kreiger makes them too that's a toss up , I'd say Obermayer but they're such a hard find I don't even look for them anymore
I have had rifles barreled with Brux , Bartlein , Rock Creek , Obermayer, Kreiger , Pac-Nor , Hart and Douglas and all have shot fantastic for me.
In the end I think it boils down to how well its installed. I've seen a standard Douglas barreled rifle built by a perfectionist on a Savage action out shoot a Kreiger barreled Bat action because the sausage that fitted the barrel up was half retarded.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the bigger names so ling as the barrel is fitted properly

I'm looking to rebarrel my main rig to 6.5 Creedmoor and am going with a Bartlein 5R #14 finished at 23". Bartlein seems to be the consensus on the forums/matches, they support the sport well, and hell some of the best groups i've ever seen have been Bartlein. That said if you don't have a preference i wouldn't hesitate to use Krieger, Obermeyer (though as jones said nearly impossible to find) Rock Creek, Brux, Broughton, etc. the list goes on. Lots of good barrel manufacturers out there.

I have mostly Bartleins and Shilens- and also have or have had Kriegers and Rocks. Believe it or not, I really like the Shilens, I know they get a bad rap, but they have always worked well for me. I have one of these CONTOUR #6 BARREL...BY SHILEN | Brownells on a 16.5" 308, $227 mil/le price at brownells and the thing shoots sub .5 MOA at 500 yards all day long.

My best shooting barrel ever was a Rock 30 cal 1:11.25 M40 profile. That thing was stupid accurate. At the time, my "smith" and I use the term loosely, chambered it ina three jaw chuck on a 700 short action with no work done to it. The barrel shot stupid small groups at 300 yards. Big ragged hole. Of course, I immediately sold the rifle.

Bartlein probably has the best finish of any blank I've seen. Lots of pride there.
