Had some issues last time out at 620 yards and suspected my scope was having tracking issues.
So I did a box test at 100 yards today. I went 5 mils up, 10 mils up, 5 mils right, 5 mils down , 5 mils down and back to zero.
First I shot a 5 shot group that was 0.46" (.28 and a flier). I shot three cycles of this text.
Results:
At zero (my aiming point) - all good. Group was 0.43 (so it returns to zero fine)
at 5 mils up it was 0.3 mils low, group was 1.065"
at 10 mils up 0.3 mils low and group was 0.83"
at 10 mils up and 5 mils right, 0.4 mils low and 0.66" group
at 5mils up and 5 mils right, 0.6 mils low and 1.07" group
at zero mils up and 5 mils left, 0.4 mils low and 0.55" group

Haven't called Vortex yet, but I assume this would not be within spec.
Thoughts?

Sounds like something is not right, but what that something is, is another question. To really see what’s going on, you’d need to mount the scope in a fixture and run a proper tracking test, isolating the scope as the only variable. Which vortex is it? Not all of them are created equal.

You are showing 3% error if im reading this right (3 clicks every 100 clicks). It depends on the optic and the warranty and how much you value the cost of return shipping, but I would seriously consider sending it to the OEM to be checked out on a calibrated fixture.
