opinion's on rifle I'm looking at

This rifle is local to me and it looks like the guy selling it might be hurting for money. Does this seem like a good deal? I'm not associated with the seller in any way if that's what someone might be thinking.

Looks like a great deal to me, but if you're just starting out a 308 would be better than the 300 due to the cost of ammo for all the practice shooting in your future.

I have 3 other rifles in .308 and I reload all my ammo. I have never heard of the smith that built it and couldn't find any reviews online for them either. That's pretty much my only concern.
