Got a chance to pick up a Lue VARXIII EFR with target turrets in 6.5x20x50 in trade for a PSL with extras what do you guys think. I was shopping around for optics the Luepold is 6yrs old but like new with supposedly less than 50 rounds fired on it. I am digging it so far but was wanting a varmit or mil reticle and mil adjustments.

Re: Opinions

I have 4 Leu Vari XIIIs and 2 VariXIIs. They have a lifetime waranty. Even if you bought it used, they will make it right if something is wrong with it. You will probably be fine with what you bought after using it a while. All mine have the same "Duplex" crosshairs. Even the ones that are 8.5 X 25 X 50 they work fine.

Re: Opinions

Was there any issues with this model being reproduced like the 4 series? I wont have a chance to lay eyes on it until thursday so i have some time to do some sniffing around dont want to get ripped off, thanks.

Re: Opinions

I have the exact same scope on 2 of my rifles. A Colt 6600 HBAR and a Remmy PSS. Both are 10 years old, crystal clear, great resolution. Never had a single problem with either and Leupold service is 1st class. It should also come with a second set of turrets that you can put a screw on cover on. I took those off and put the target turrets on mine. I'd trade a PSL for it in a heartbeat.

Re: Opinions

Bob,

I stand corrected on one front. In fact, I drug out a 1996 catalog, and in addition to the usual 3x9 EFR and 6.5-20x40 EFR's, they did have a 3.5-10x50 EFR and a 4.5-14x50 EFR, of course all with A/O.

They do show a 6.5-20x50, but not as a EFR. Doesn't mean they didn't make one.....

Re: Opinions

Alf,

You know now that I think about it, I'm not sure about a 6.5-20x50mm EFR now. I know I had a 3.5-10x50mm EFR, and a buddy who I thought had a 6.5-20x50mm EFR, said no, he had the 6.5-20x40mm EFR as you mentioned.

Getting old I guess. Of course as you said, they made have made one, who knows with Leupold.
