I am thinking of putting one of these two scopes on my AR, and was wondering what your opinions may be of these two scopes. Prices are fairly close. The Burris has a built in bullet drop compensator on the reticule, where as the Meopta does not. What do you guys think?

I've had both and still have the Meopta. I personally didn't get along with the Burris, didn't care for the reticle. There are a lot of guys using the Burris with good results for it not to be a decent scope. I felt like the glass in the Meopta is clearer, and clean out to the edges. After getting to know the Meopta hits on 8" plates are no problem out to 400. It is very fast up close with the daylight visible red dot. For precision work I used it without the reticle lit.

I've owned both. Shot the Meopta for 4 yrs and the Burris for less than 1 yr. The Meopta with the day time ill reticle is the cats ass 300 and in. I didn't care for the Burris black reticle and it was a little busy for me. Hold-overs in burris were on out to 400 with my load, but off at 500. Meopta with 50 yard zero will get you to 300. Use top of hash mark under dot at 300, dot for everything inside. Meopta had beautiful glass, great FOV, and nice bright ill day time reticle. Only down fall was that there isn't a real elevation turret you can dial.

I've actually switched to the Trijicon TR24G (same price range). All the qualities of the Meopta, but with a good elevation turret you can dial for targets behond 300. I zero tip of triangle at 50. Lets me use the reticle to 300 and then dial beyond. I'd like more magnification (1-6X), but the Swarovski V6i is only game in town and it is expensive and does not have a good elevation turret.

Hope this helps.
