Anybody have any experience running this shell with a PVS-15 setup? Curios if the bump helmet is able to stabilize the heavier bino system. Would a ballast weight on the rear be needed?

Thanks,

I wear a different OPS CORE helmet with a set of PSQ-20s or PVS-14s. While it is a different setup I only responded to say the Base Jump helmet has the same dial adjustment at the back of the helmet harness which makes me think your helmet would be fine without a counterbalance. That dial does a great job of locking the helmet onto my shape of head anyhow.

It will work, but will be more comfortable with a counterweight. I love 15's, and have some good memories rocking them. A lot of people don't like the ABC, but I have found that there are a lot of situations where you don't have time to adjust gain and/or that is not where your mind is at.
If you haven't already bought the helmet, I would look at the Team Wendy LTP. It is more stable in my opinion, and that seems to be the same for a lot of people, but I would imagine the shape of your nugget has something to do with that.

I don't like running lead weights. It is weight that doesn't have a secondary purpose. In my old unit, we ran a dual mag pouch with two G19 mags. You don't expect to use them, and they are EXTRA, you still run your normal mags on your warbelt/rig, but at least they have a purpose. It is more common to run batteries as a counter weight, but I find that it takes a lot of batteries to get the weight I want, then they are hard to get to if you are not flexible, like me. I run the mag pouches upside down, so I can get to them if need be without removing the helmet. For the record, I've never had to strip a mag out off the back of my helmet in a sporty situation, so it may be moot.

Thanks for the response guys. I am hoping the Ops Core harness provides the fit needed to stabilize the 15s.

Delta- lots of good info there. I am going to see if I can get my hands on a Wendy to demo as we'll.

Second the Team Wendy helmet. The suspension system is the best I've ever worn and a counter balance isn't needed for 15's. I also grabbed a Team Wendy pad kit and suspension upgrade kit for my older MICH and it turned it into a whole new helmet; I can run 15's on it without ballast and it's incredibly comfortable.

My friend has the duals with a ops core and he likes it. I haven't tried them on my TW exfil but the way it locks on your head I imagine it would be great. BTW, I LOVE my team wendy EXFIL LTP helmet.
