i am trying to decide on a scope for my new 10fcp. I am looking really hard at the SS (16x) but am concerned about the fixed power of these scopes. I dont see how 10 power could ever be enough for a 1000 yard shot. I am new to the long range game and need advice on what power to get or should i go with a variable power scope.

I am also looking at the vortex viper and the Bushnell elite 4200-6500 but it seems every time i try to research them the Super Sniper shows up again.

thanks

Get the 10x. If you are new to long range shooting you have a nice long while before you will be capable of consistently shooting that far anyway. Lots of people shoot to 1000 with 10x anyway. The best one to get would be the new 10x HD model, it blows the original super snipers out of the water.

You can shoot 1000 yards with irons if you take the time to learn. Shooting a 50 yard mover with a 16x fixed would be a feat.

My SN-3 goes to 17x. For movers and snaps I rarely run it above 10x becuase I need the field of view. I WOULD NOT limit myself to a 16x fixed. Take a look at the Falcon 4-14x44FFP or the new SS 10xHD. Both can be had with Mil turrets and LowLight did a great review on the new SS 10x.
