I have an Origin short action coming with a magnum bolt head and a spc bolt head. I'm planning on using it for a 224 valkyrie for for target shooting and general long range varmint fun. Then switching to 6.5prc or something else for hunting.
For the 224 I don't need a real heavy contour, I have a couple Remington varmint contours and I'm good with that, don't want to go much heavier. Maybe light or med palma. For the hunting caliber I'd like to go lighter, maybe heavy sporter/magnum sporter.

My question is if I get a Manners stock how bad will it look if it's inlet for a med or light palma and put a sporter barrel in it?

I just bought an off the shelf PRS1 that was inlet for a Heavy Palma. This is for a 6DASHER build I have going with an Origin. My barrel is a Proof Competition contour, which is substantially heavier than that. Like WAY heavier. I opened up the channel myself in about an hour with some sandpaper wrapped around cardboard tubes. So now it has good clearance for the Proof Comp contour. My Origin isn't here yet, so I have a Vudoo V-22 in it with their Kukri contour which is similar to a Sendero I believe. It looks just fine. I am planning on repainting the channel flat black just like Manners did originally. At that point, I don't think it will be noticeable at all. Certainly no worse than a chassis with a straight contour.
