With all the posts on the Nucleus Orders... I wanted to start a post for us on the ORIGIN Pre-order list.

I have 2 coming. .223 bolt face. Emailed Bighorn a few weeks ago, they are still on track for August.

Parts that are here:
XLR Envy chassis for my son
KMW Sentinel for me
4 MDT .223 mags
2 sets of Seekins Precision Rings
2 Bushnell LRSTi 4.5-18 G3 reticle scopes
Bighorn arms ORIGIN Action wrench
2 TBAC Muzzlw adapters

Parts ordered:
2 24" Rock Creek button barrels from PVA Cerakote black.

Can't wait. What do you have planned?

That sounds like a nice plan.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I want to enjoy my Nucleus.

Waiting on my Origin since Feb. Just ordered the remainder of my parts last week. Waiting on all of them, but hope to see them by the time my action gets here.

1. Origin .308 face, righty, teardrop knob
2. Magpul Pro 700 Chassis in FDE
3. Huber 2 stage at 2 lbs
4. Shouldered prefit PVA 24” bbl in .260 Rem w/ Jetblast Brake.

Dies will be here next week, still need to order a viper vise and a bighorn action wrench, which I plan on adding to my order when it ships.

Gonna take my 3-15 T5Xi off my other gun and put on the new rig until Zero Compromise scopes are available, and I have enough saved for one. I’m sure I’ll have the money together by the time I can get my hands on one the way things are looking with them.

Will the Accuracy International AX Chassis System work with the Origin - I am confused with the magazines

2 24" Rock Creek button barrels from PVA Cerakote black.

I was going to order my barrel from them with black cerakote changed my mind at the last minute. Interested to know how it matches up with the melonite receiver.

I'm in on the pre-order as well. I've got a Q Full Nelson purchased for it. Not really in a hurry on this build since it will most likely be sometime next year before the paperwork for the suppressor paperwork is approved.

If anyone has changed there mind and wants to sell there spot in line, send me a pm.

I ordered one last week. Bighorn immediately responded with a mid September due date, not shabby at all as I expected at least 6 months. I also ordered a shouldered barrel from John at Keystone (very pleasant to deal with) to pair with it. I will pick up a 419 break. It will sit in my KRG Bravo with Jewel trigger, gen 1 Razor with Seekins rings.

So have we confirmed that the tl3 shouldered prefits will head space properly on the origin?

It won’t work. The tenon for the origin bbl needs to be .01” longer according to a comment from Bighorn on their FB.

How much was a barrel from keystone? I couldn't find any info on their website.

based on everything else i'd guess button at $379 and Kreiger at $579

That is correct. It's all on his site under the custom shop link, Keystone Custom Shop. There were no additional charges for John to torque it on. I will just order other calibers, replacements from John in the future as I feel like it.

On second thought it may have been as much as .1" longer (I can't seem to find the comment on FB anymore), in any case shouldered barrels for TL3's won't fit an Origin. I suppose the shoulder could be cut back further however to allow for fitment.

Bighorn Arms No. Short action TL3's have .100" less barrel tennon than the Origin. With the addition of a non-integrated recoil lug, the Origin had to be changed a little bit dimensionally. Sorry for any inconvenience.

i asked the question so easy enough to find

That's good to know. That would save me from buying an action wrench.

We're glad most of you are waiting patiently for the Origin to be released to you! We're still tracking for the mid-August release. We have receivers in various stages of production with most of the other pieces either done or being made right now. We're not ready to ship yet, but we will have them in the time frame we initially stated we would (Summer '18).

We strongly urge anyone that is wanting to change or add something to their order, they do so well before the time of payment or shipment. This helps us in a big way when we are assembling and packaging orders.

Adding items at the time of payment takes longer interactions on the phone, can create questions and takes us away from getting everything in the box and out the door. It's not a huge problem for us and we know changes in heart occur when you have to wait this long to get your build, but anything that can be done in advance and is as simple as adding an item helps us out greatly. We won't ask you to pay right away for anything added, we'll just add it to your invoice.

You guys are all great customers and we can't wait to get this product out to you so we can hear what you think!

Thank you - ZAI/Bighorn Team

Got all parts for daughter’s 308 build except the action......she is four.

She’s shooting off the RRS tripod with her AR.
I’ll have to pull all the spacers out on the Bravo and see where it’s measures.
She’ll be using the tripod for a while to mitigate recoil.

No joke, she likes to shoot.
Which is great, because I tell the wife it’s for our daughter.
We hate waiting too!

I can't wait for my action to come in. Still not sure what barrel to use. What kind of barrel does keystone use besides kreiger? So far I only have a MDT ESS chassis and 419 hellfire brake. Planning on running a trigger tech specialist.

We have Origin barrels available through our website in a multitude of offerings in caliber and contours.
We did all of the proof testing barrels for Bighorn before the Origin was announced and have been delivering shouldered prefits to customers for several months on the Origins to have guys prepped when their actions arrive.

We do 100% of the chambering process and muzzle threading on CNC with the bore dialed into the spindle on every single barrel. The only time we use a live center is to support the barrel during contouring, none of the accuracy-critical work is done on a live center. All the work at each end is done in a single setup; no transfer from setup to setup or machine to machine between operations. This ensure the very best alignment between the fitting work for receiver mating and the chamber itself.

This provides the best repeatability available in the process and in turn the best repeatability downrange on your end product.

We offer cut rifled and button rifled barrels however all of our barrels are double normalized (stress relieved) and double lapped. The end result is the "cheaper" barrels that some may not want to use have won several dozen matches, a local club championship, and almost a world record at an ELR attempt with a 308.

We also offer Savage prefits with a barrel nut that doesn't require a special, additional wrench, it uses a basic 1-1/4" wrench that can be assembled with a big adjustable if you want.

If we can assist please feel free to let us know.

THey use Green Mountain barrels.

What is the turnaround time for a barrel without cerakote?

^^^ Also interested on current turn around times on origin prefits.
Depends what you order specifically.
We cut barrels in batches between the 2 CNC's. We are running 6.5 Creeds and 6.5x47's right now. End of this week we'll be back to 6 Creeds, then we have a number of 223's to get out.

I don't have any blanks available in 7mm right now so if you want something in 7 it's going to be at least 8 weeks because we need to have the blanks here.

I've had a 260 remington on order for a couple weeks now. Not in any rush since my action wont be here for at least another month, just hoping I placed my order early enough that my bbl will be here around the same time as my origin.

PM me your Order # but I just cut some 260's; the barrel is likely in the work process to get the muzzle cut.

Just put an order in for a 6.5 creed barrel and action wrench. Josh has been a great help! All I need now is a trigger and I’ll be up and running when the action ships.

Are we going to see Origin long actions in the future?

The new 300 PRC has my interest.

Let me fix this -
Are we going to see Origin …. actions in the near future?
- I know. I’m impatient.

I keep checking this thread and their Facebook page to see if there are any updates since the last one. It’s like getting on the scale everyday with no changes. Fucking depressing.

Well they said mid august and its not even august yet.

Theyve also said a few times that there is nothing negative impacting their target date.

I just cant decide if I want to continue with the 6 creedmoor as planned or bump it up to a 7 saum. Ive been doing a lot more hunting than target shooting lately, which isn't saying much because I hardly hunt. I would like to go to Colorado and get on some elk at some point.

Yeah, no reason to get out the pitchforks yet. I'm patient. I figure I've got at least another six months before I get the suppressor I'm going to use on this build, so I'm in no rush.

I keep going back and forth on calibers as well. I'll probably stick with a 16" or 18" 6.5 Creedmoor, but a 26" barrel 6mm Creedmoor or 6.5 PRC is also tempting. The 6mm Creedmoor and 6.5 PRC seem to be quite similar from a barrel life / velocity / trajectory / ammo cost perspective.

I'll just be shooting steel and paper so it probably doesn't matter either way.

Not stressing on the origin release date either. They've said August time frame since the very beginning. It's starting to look like the action won't be the hold up on my build. Still waiting on bbl and the pro 700 chassis from Magpul to be released. Optics planet (where I pre-ordered my chassis) is stating a 1-3 month wait time for them right now. Hopefully it's closer to 1 month and everything is here by the time I get my action from my FFL.

i'm order 143x. .308 bolt head. I ordered the same day they were released.

Are you guys looking at the PO number or the Order Conformation number?

Those two numbers are around 500 apart on my invoice.. Any idea on the total number of Origin actions sold to date?

Order # 245x; PO # 166x. Order placed late February. 8/15 ship date on invoice.

PO number 145# Ordered on Jan 20th
I don't know how many were ordered, but it seems Mid August is going to be a good estimate. Basing that on the comments they have posted in this thread.
Waiting on my barrels from PVA, but Jeremy said they should be shipping this week. We will see. No rush figure 4 weeks til i get the actions...
