We did the first one today, several guys canceled but we did have a couple of new shooters show up to play.

After some discussions of disciplines we went out to the range and shot at 300 and 600 for a warmup. Great time was had.

I learned something watching a new shooter shoot SW Ammo 175s, they shoot tight. The vertical was great. If I ever have to order something that I don't reload for a shoot I'm grabbing some.

Anyone in the area make plans for April 22 and come on out. We should be doing 600 and maybe getting back to 1000 in the next session.

I wish I could attend, but unfortunately that's just a tad too far away. But I will say this about the SW ammo, it is great. My buddy, remau308, shoots the standard .308 load in Win brass from them and his rifle just stacks one round on top of the other. My rifle on the other hand has a spread like 00 buckshot with it. I talked with someone at SW and was asking about the different loads. They told me that the Run and Gun, Standard, and Premium all use the same powder (brand and measurement), same supplier of bullets, and same primers. The only difference is in the brass itself. I believe where they get such great consistency (and they did not tell me this, just an assumption on my part) is that their brass for the Standard and Premium loads are sorted by weight. Anyway, their stuff is great if your rifle likes it. I wish mine did.

EDIT: I don't know anything about the newest load that they just came out with, but I'm sure it's great too.

I had a great time out there on Saturday. Thanks for having these types of clinics for the new guys. That SW ammo did great. I think I'll be using it until I start reloading later this year. Go ahead and mark me down for next month.
