Gunsmithing otis technology life liner

Re: otis technology life liner

Interesting. Otis actually makes some good cleaning kits, so they are not a fly by night company.

Of cource the 35% accuracy increase claim is kind of over the top. Take a 0.5MOA gun and turn it into a 0.35 MOA gun. If that is true, I guess I will have to get this stuff for all my barrels.

Will be interesting to see someone who has seen/used this stuff chime in here. $65 sounds almost like snake oil to me. I don;t think I will be first in line to try it, but will try to keep an open mind.

Good Morning James,

Thank you for your email and interest in this product and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. At this time, we have made the decision to discontinue this item. The decision to discontinue LifeLiner® was driven by the inability to source a consistent supply of U.S.-based raw materials used in the manufacturing of the product. We have no concerns relative to the quality or effectiveness of the LifeLiner® product that is in the field.

If you have any further questions please let me know.

Have A Great Day!

Thank you,

Amanda Hutchins

Applying ceramic at 3000 FPS and 65,000 PSI? No to mention the temperatures involved. Let me know how that works out for ya.

Re: otis technology life liner

Looks to me like Otis actually decided that the s**t reallly didn't work.

Seriously, if it worked, there would be 7 other clones out there trying to get you to buy their version.

Just my take - - ymmv.

Re: otis technology life liner

Try UBC, Ultra Bore Coating. I have it in a couple of high volume varmint rifles with factory bores and it significantly cut copper fouling. I know the answer is custom tubes but I run it in Remington and Tikka OEM barrels and will continue to do so.

I cannot say it showed any increase in accuracy or barrel life, all the .223s shoot about .75moa with lead free Nosler bullets (about the same as new) and have no more than 7000 rounds so far. A Tikka .270 shooting the 110TTSX at 3400fps is still under .75moa after 1000 rounds and showing minimal throat erosion which is better than expected for wear.

Pretty much anything that regular people can buy that has nano in the name is going to be a rip off. Nanotube, nanofiber, nanoceramic, nanoparticle...not stuff that is readily available to regular joe's, at least not for a price anyone would want to pay.
