OK, so I have searched for this and found a overload of opinions. So once again I am going to ask but with my needs in mind. For 500 yards and under what is the best scope for 300 or under? I was considering up to a 16 power. I have looked at everything from Millet to Leapers and everything in between. I know that these are not high quality and not as reputable as most others but when I grow out of it I can throw it on a 17 cal and upgrade. What are some thoughts???

i like my millett, i think you can get them at optics planet pretty cheap. watch ebay too. i "made an offer" on mine to optice planet and they accepted. it was pretty close to wholesale and i didnt think they would take my offer. you can try SWFA also, but dont discount ebay. just be informed and shop around. last gun show here i saw a leupold Mk4 LRT for $930. i almost traded my P7M13 for it but it sold before i could talk with the guy. i cant tell you about shooting it yet, but my bud likes it on his sendero and i heard good things about it.

I would consider it an omen that you didn't trade a P7M13 for a leupold. That gun is at least 1500 these days, if you can find one. For God's sake, hold onto it.
