Anybody know if I can paint a laminate stock such as those found on the Savage Mark II BV? How much trouble would it be and what would I need? Would the wonderfull Krylon work?

thanks

Re: Painting a laminate stock?

I did this recently, and was not at all pleased with the results. Unless you use a good amount of paint to fill the pores on the wood, the grain will show through and you will have pockets and divits all over the stock. I'm going to strip the paint off the laminated stock I painted and return it to a clear urathane finish.

start with a good sealer then use an automotive high build primer, another coat of sealer, then paint.
