Picked up a used Sportco for my wife to try out F-class. Before I surpise her with it, "What another gun" will be her response,I would like to paint the stock her favorite color with a high gloss finish.
Do I remove the old finish first.
Primer and if so with what.
Strip it chemically or sand it.
What painr and finish should i use for that high gloss car finish.

If the grain is closed you need to prime and apply base and clear coat. If you need to seal it use fiber glass resin which will close the grain and you wont have any problem top coating. Now are you looking to apply color or just clear? Pm me if you need details. I was a painter for 7 yrs.
