Painting carbon fiber barrel?

Here’s my rig. Wanting to rattle can it, will this negatively impact the cf wrapped barrel? If so I guess I’ll paint everything else but the barrel, was curious and haven’t seen it brought up anywhere.

I woudlnt think so but who knows what kind of wild chemical reaction that could MAYBE take place. Id ask proof and go from there.

I seem to remember Proof stating cured finishes such as Cerakote are a no go as it affects the resin, and may interfere with the heat dissipation qualities of the CF.
However, a quick search on google shows multiple Proof CF barrels that have been Cerakoted completely.

Asked Proof if their barrels could take Cerakote and was told to simply follow the temp restrictions and it would be fine.

I was thinking more along the lines of a rattle can job, to camo up the gun.

Three years later, no apparent harm to the CF, just the usual chipping and scratching of the paint, which is nothing, if you find it off-putting, just touch it up.

Do it.

The proof cerakote issue is about oven bake times, nothing else. Low bake and you are fine. Rattle can or whatever is also a no-problem job.

Nothing happens if you spray paint it, just do it...
