I'm not sure how this will work out for the diplomat being restrained in contravention of international law, but if I were Sec State I would have a hundred cops with fine tooth combs going through every diplo pakis background and any who had so much as an unpaid parking ticket would be held in federal custody until I felt like letting them pay it along with accumulated penalties.

I also wonder if in some part he is a hostage against some policy they would like to deflect. In any event the accident in question must have been the will of God, unless this US Diplomat is more powerful than God. So if they are using the law to protest the will of God they must be Apostate.

Pakistan has gotten rather spoiled by the billions a year they were getting from us for "nominally" being our allies in the war on terror. Along with us letting them slide on all kinds of bad actions & allowing stuff that cost American lives.
Trump finally called them on the carpet over it & now they are throwing a tantrum and being little bitches about it.
They don't seem to realize if we actually wanted we could have him & all our people out of there swiftly & could be in complete control of their nuclear weapons overnight. Pakistan offers the simplest supply route into Afghanistan, which is landlocked and surrounded by inhospitable (to us) neighbors. They're the closest sea port for us to land supplies and truck them into Afgh. We do have (or at least did have) cooperative agreements with I believe Kazakhstan and Kyrgistan, and used at least one of them when Pakistan shut down the border over a dispute, but you could feel the supply crunch almost instantly having to get shit via that route.

They're a fucking duplicitous shithole that has funded, aided, and supplied our enemies while extorting money from us, but until we seize control of Iran there isn't another viable supply route for Afgh.

It sucks, and this President has done more than any other to try to address it, but as long as we have troops in Afgh, we're pretty much stuck in some sort of "deal" with the Pakis.

Maybe I'm too judicious, but wall-to-wall/border-to-border carpet-bombing IS more than an option, no? I believe that all's what's needed is the START of such a campaign, and they'll be having "Come To Jesus" tent-revivals all over the place, and televised too.

I’d love to see USA ramp up presence in at least three locations in India , Dras/Kargil , Leh/Kardung
and Bhutan . Chip India a few bucks , some eyes in the sky intel , and set up ‘ high altitude training ‘
exercises all over the Himalayan region . As far back as WW2 , US had high altitude runways in that
region .

If we did it 65 years ago , we can do it again with bells on. This also gives us some very convenient
locations near to China , who are doing exactly this in their north west regions . No doubt Mil
Strategists are all over this , and just need a Diplomatic green light .

I’ve spent a few years in that neck of the woods in various roles , and there are hundreds of locations
to set up absolutely epic ELR training facilities , with no one for miles except the occasional visit
from Mr Wind . I’d work there again in a heart beat , it’s a beautiful , if cruel part of the world .

way around , after flying into Delhli . Plenty of side routes to explore on the way to the hills . Damn ,
now you’ve got me wanting to check costings of flying a dirt bike to Delhi ... Might be more cost
effective to buy a scoot on arrival and sell before departure .

A Welsh buddy of mine just keeps a bike over there and rides the Himalayas most years. He flies in, collects his bike from wherever he left it, and fucks off on his next walkabout.
