Rifle Scopes Parallax

I'm curious how do you guys check to make sure you're near the correct parallax setting?

I've been told to roll your head side to side and see if the reticle stays centered, but it always seems to move regardless.

Thought I'd seek input here as to what all of you do.

It's not that the reticle stays still, but that is remains in the same spot in relation to the point of aim on the target. The reticle can move around so long the target moves along with it.

Move your head side to side. Try intentionally setting the parallax incorrectly and see if it worse than when the sight picture is clear. There should be a distinct difference. If not then you may have a problem with your scope.

In many scopes, perfect clarity and the absence of parallax are not achievable sumultaneously.

Adjusting your diopter can help with that.

But then you may not see the crosshairs clearly.

I guess if you have perfect eyesight, everything works as it should.

Hold the rifle still and move my head side to side. If the reticle moves across the target then parallax is present.

Yeah, it is a little dependent on how flexible your eye is. I guess I'm lucky that way.
