Phoenix new monthly match

We have decided to run another type of match besides our precision rifle match every month.

This will be a SPR(ar15 and .223 only)from 100-500yds. Its a combination of high power and precision rifle.

Hey Scott,

So no close targets?Not any closer than a 100 yards.I'm trying to figure out the best scope to use.The one I have now on my carbine is a 1.5x-4.5x.I'll put a scope with more magnification if there's no close run and gun.

When is the first meet? I think the twist rate on my upper is 1:9". Don't think it's going to stabilize the heavier bullets to reach 500 yards reliably. Any recommendation Scott?

no run and gun close stuff, so more magnification is better.


1-9 twist is fine, here is a target i shot with 75gr Hornady bthp with varget powder
1-9 twist 75grn BTHP

Scott, could we get a better idea what this match will be like?

Is it basically like your precision match but .223/5.56 only?
