Pic rail help on manners T2A

Have a manners stock that I want to put a Picatinny rail on for bipod attachment. Stock has a sling stud and a flush cup that are 3.5inches apart. That’s the perfect distance for the atlas rail. I already have a quick detach atlas bipod I use on other rifles. So my questions are:

1. Is there a better rail option I should consider?
2. Is there a way to use the flush cup as an attachment point? Like some type of fastener that would go in the cup and secure the rail or will I need to create a new hole for a normal screw?
