I own a leupold spotting scope and tripod. If I wanted to mount my rifle on the tripod, what kind of adapters would I need? When I did a search for adapters many different kinds came up and I am not sure which is compatible with my tripod.

What kind of head attachment do you have on top of your tripod? There are a few types of picatinny rail adapters for different plate standards. i.e. Rc2, arca-swiss, RRS 1.5" Dovetail.
I am not sure what this attachment is called, but here is a picture of it. It measures 35mm x 35mm approximately.
I would try this... You should be able to screw your 1/4-20 plate into it and then had a QD adaptor.

Actually that was the adapter that I was looking at, but I was unsure if it would fit. Thanks
Can you take a picture of the bottom? That will show what type of mounting feature it uses.

That standard is not RC2 or the Arca-Swiss style. I've seen that standard used in the Bushnell Tactical Tripod kit which has a picatinny grabber included in it. I'll look for a link for it and post if I can find it.
So long as the stud is the standard 1/4-20 it should screw into the BT adapter above... you can confirm but using a nut.
