Hunting & Fishing picatinny style offest light mount for night time

just curious if anyone uses one of these for night time hunting, mostly for hogs. i figure it might work to mount in between the scope mounts on a rail or infront of the scope, not sure yet really. if you haven't tried this and you do night hunting, what do you use? by the way if i go this route it will be going on my savage model 11

I tapped the FF tube to accept a 3" YHM rail.

If I used a bolt gun at night, I'd prolly do the same & mount a rail as far forward as possible on the stock...

didn't think of that, and yes it's a bolt gun. i just thought of mounting it on the rail by the scope so i can just add it when needed which probbaly won't be that often, but i might try mounting a rail to the stock
