I bought one thats been customed out with a m-14 wood stock. I know the knocks on it. Ive got plenty of precision guns. this is gonna be my dirty dog, polaris rzr running the river beer drinking, stupid redneck shit, hog slayer gun this summer. Whats the toughest red and green dot ( i like green) to mount on the front rail. Eotech/aimpoint/rmr. If it has somthing that works good or helps with illumination of a green laser that would be cool. Its gonna get sunk sandy wet and beat up and is taking the place of ak underfolder.(or at least auditioning) I dont want to mess with any funky m1a scope mounts. Ive Read the lower it sits on these the better. Thanks to all

I like that rifle. It is a bit heavy, but nothing too bad.

I had one for a while and really enjoyed shooting it. I shot mine with open sights. For what it is mine shot plenty accurate. Even got a couple deer with it at a bit over 100 yards.

I'd go for the small aim point too on there. Are the iron sights a viable option for you? It is very short and handy, so imho the smaller the better on the optics. Your rail should just be a picatinny style out front there. Any pic style mount should bolt right up. I have not personally looked through a red dot on a scout style rifle, but I'd think it would work just fine. Maybe someone can try sticking one of their dot sights way up forward on an AR and see how easy it is to get on target?

Yes ive researched them quiet a bit and i know the limitations and that the irons work. this will be getting a bit of night use so i want somthing that shows up. From what ive learned from reasarch online is you want somthing that sits pretty low or you will be raising your head/cheek up to high
