PIGlite legs, RRS best option for ball head?

I picked a PIGlite up last summer for a really good price used. Didn't come with a head. I am ready to buy one now. I was going to grab a $100 cheapy, but after doing some reading it looks like it would be wasted money for the quality.
Hobbyist for now, might do some night time coyote down the line. I like the idea of the Leveling base but looks like that may not be an option for what I have. I run some heavy rifles 26" MTU + can.
