Buck was quite a bit smaller than both the bow kills, lots of ground shrinkage. Beat myself up a little as this was a nice young buck for WV and would have been a good one to let walk and grow.

How do you like the FOB's?

Re: pistol buck

Broke a finger and cant pull recurve back without discomfort. I went from hunting with a recurve since mid 80's to the compound this year with all the gadgets. Comparing recurve to compound is night vs day. As for the FOBS, I can see where they would help shooting in windy conditions and I do like the way they fly. No issues with them at all.

My 4yo boy is bigger than my 7yo daughter. He thinks he should be able to do everything she does. She wants to hunt and she shoots the 6.5 Grendel with collapsable stock well enough to hunt. My son is no where near mentally reasponsible to hunt. He is still in the "spray and pray" mentality. Puts me in a "daddy" position.

Re: pistol buck

Are the FOB's the fletchings? They designed to stop pass throughs? Thinking they might help locate missed or pass through shots....I have spending $18 each time and risk loosing an arrow...any more info would be great...thanks.

Re: pistol buck

The FOBS pull off by hand so they do not stop pass throughs. They might if you glue them on, but they are intended to come off the arrow. It can serve to mark your spot where the shot was if you get a pass.

Why the 7mmBR? That is how it was chambered when I got it.

ULA hasn't made pistols since before Colt bought them back in late 90's. Colt took a few shortcuts and add a recall on some of the rifles because of trigger issues and Melvin got the rights back and started NULA (New Ultra Light Arms) but the handguns were never made again because of a 2001 or 2002??? NY lawsuit against all handgun manufacturers. Melvin decided it wasn't worth the hassle to start making pistols again. So, 7mmBR is good enough to 200+ which is more than practical for any WV hunting I do.
