Hey guys,

I am fairly new to this forum, and am working on putting together my first precision build. I have visited this forum from time to time, mostly to keep up with the optics board. I have been big into AR's, but recently sold one and wanted to put together a rifle.

I want to get it right, so I am very open to input. I have already purchased a Remington 700 AAC-SD in .308, and I currently own an AAC 762-SD suppressor, so that is what I am starting with.

Tentatively, I am planning to add the following:

NightForce 3.5-15x50 (I need help on the details of which model)
NightForce base and rings (again, not sure the exact one)
B&C Medalist Light Tactical Scope
Harris Bipod
AAC 51 tooth muzzle break mount

I would like to hear what you would do different than what I have listed. Am I on the right track? I'd rather hear it now, then get it put together, and have everyone say "You should have done ______ differently."

Thanks for the help, and I'll be sure to get pictures up when I get it done.

Sounds good to me. Id go with a NF 20moa base and 30mm rings, I am not sure on the height. I think the F1 is FFP, and Mil/Mil, so that wold be my choice. I think you are ehaded in the right direction.

Re: Please help me build my first precision rifle!

I agree with Shay on the scope, not sure about the ring height but I'd say someone with a similar setup will chime in. Any reason why you chose the B&C stock? Really the biggest question is what are you wanting to use it for?

Re: Please help me build my first precision rifle!

B&C makes good stocks. Some people say bad things about them, but I have no regrets for purchasing mine. Can not go wrong for the money. After purchasing that stock, and SS scope from SWFA, I saved a good chunk of change for quality products.

badger ordnance 20moa rail and a badger bolt handle everything else sounds pretty good.... make sure you are happy with the power of the scope... you dont want to buy it and want a little more power... i have done this with a 4.5-20x44 and now im looking at a nightforce nxs 12-42x56 ...
