ive been looking at NF scopes on eurooptics and im having trouble determining what NF's terminology is. please correct me if im wrong on the following

-nightforce NXS= illuminated
-nightforce NXS zero stop= scope has zero stop, obviously
-nightforce NXS zero stop high speed= turret can dial to "X" mil/moa in one turn with "X" being a large number, thus enabling the user to dial in a lot of dope in less turns? not sure about this one
-nightforce NXS zero stop MRAD= adjustments are in mils
-nightforce NXS F1 zero stop= ffp model

i guess im the most confused about the difference in the high speed and MRAD models. i was under the impression that if you wanted adjustments in mils, you had to get the high speed turrets, is this not true? thanks for the help

Re: please help with NF terminology

If you want mils you get the model with mrad turrets.

Older model NFs had 5 mils per rev and the HS turrets are 10 mils per revolution.

I would think you would want the HS turrets, less confusion when youre shooting diff distances.

Re: please help with NF terminology

nightforce NXS= Nightforce xtreme series
-nightforce NXS zero stop= scope has zero stop, obviously
-nightforce NXS zero stop high speed= has zero stop, also two revolutions on the turrets gets you the same amount of adjustment as the old models got with 4

-nightforce NXS zero stop MRAD= adjustments are in mils
-nightforce NXS F1 zero stop= ffp model

Do I have to get hi speed turrets if I want mil adjustments?

this is correct, but nightforce has discontinued the non high speed models

So if I ordered one right now I would have to get hi speed turrets to have mil adjustments, but it used to not be this way?

Re: please help with NF terminology

well if it only takes around 10 mils to get a .308 to 1k yds, thats only two turns on the old turrets. i wont be making fast decisions/shots when shooting out to 1k and back, so i feel like its not necessarily worth the extra money for me.
