I have a POF .308 and .223 with perm attached muzzle brakes. I would like to change them out.

The .308 is stupid loud and I would like to use this for hunting. What is the best method to use and what brake should I use that wont make my ears bleed on the first shot.

U need to realize that they are pinned and welded permanent due to make them 16" in length for federal law?

You have to grind down the flash and pin till you can knock out the pin. Then you are in violation of federal law and have a rifle that is technically an SBR without the proper paperwork which is a felony.

To make it legal again it would need the new flash drilled and re pinned and welded.

Hope this helps.

Yeh I do.

Just want to know the best process on the particular way that POF perm attaches their muzzle brakes. I can send it off for it to be done and then a new one perm attached but it would be $60 plus shipping.

If I can do it myself I would save some $$$. I have my 07 FFL and my friend has a Class 3 along with his 07.

Grinder, portable or bench. and get to it....go easy once you start gettin close to threads or it could get bad real fast.

You really shouldn't have to get down to threads...it should just be tacked. It wont be pretty but if done right the POF take off could still be usable. You would have to flatten out where you ground and refinish it. Otherwise it is just a throw away.
