Anyone used the Whidden pointing arrangement on the 105 hybrids?
I'm just getting started, messing with pointing. The first bullets I tried were Sierra 7mm 175 matchkings. I tried both the "0" and the "1" insert and the "0" was clearly superior. The "1" insert basically did nothing all.
Then I tried the 105s. Again I tried both inserts. It is not so obvious which is the correct one to use. Whidden recommends the "1" insert for the 105 and most other VLD-style bullets.
However, it almost looks like the "0" insert might be better. The "0" insert yields that typical "coned" tip and nearly closes the meplat. The "1" insert does not "cone" the tip, but does nearly close the meplat.
Anyone have any thoughts or experience with this, so I don't have to burn 20+ rounds testing this at 1000+ yards?
