We have a local police officer with almost 30 years exp retired from South Carolina, now working in North Carolina charged with assault by pointing a gun and two counts of illegally arresting two teenage men.
He lives just outside of his city jurisdiction. He saw young teenagers destroying and knocking over trashcans in his neighborhood. He detained them and called the sheriffs office at the same time. The boys are claiming assault and said he pulled a gun on them. He denies this.
Facts and Claims: He detained two teenagers just outside of the city jurisdiction where he lives. He says he saw the boys knocking over trash cans with a pick-up truck. He also claims neither had a drivers license. He denies ever using a gun during the incident, and other officers who responded say they never saw him use a gun, either.
Now the DA is dropping his hard work on his cases. Something just doesn't sit right with this. He is on administrative leave.
