We have a local police officer with almost 30 years exp retired from South Carolina, now working in North Carolina charged with assault by pointing a gun and two counts of illegally arresting two teenage men.

He lives just outside of his city jurisdiction. He saw young teenagers destroying and knocking over trashcans in his neighborhood. He detained them and called the sheriffs office at the same time. The boys are claiming assault and said he pulled a gun on them. He denies this.

Facts and Claims: He detained two teenagers just outside of the city jurisdiction where he lives. He says he saw the boys knocking over trash cans with a pick-up truck. He also claims neither had a drivers license. He denies ever using a gun during the incident, and other officers who responded say they never saw him use a gun, either.

Now the DA is dropping his hard work on his cases. Something just doesn't sit right with this. He is on administrative leave.

Re: Police Officer Being Wrongly Charged?

Sounds like the DA has enough to evidence to take him to trial and it sounds like that evidence is cause enough to warrant dropping cases he was involved with...

It also looks like we're missing 99% of the story and that 99% doesn't look good for the soon to be ex-cop, especially when he goes to jail...

Ain't all that hard for a good cop to stay his ass off the court docket....I know a boat load of 'em.

Just sayin'.......

Something is missing.

The DA was a friend of a (state senator and local defense lawyer) who makes campaign donations to the DA. The detective had charged the senator for shooting a man in the back of the leg in his front yard for trespassing. This is probably them getting him back.

From what I have heard though it is his word against theirs.

This smells bad!

Hopefully this works out!

Re: Police Officer Being Wrongly Charged?

Fucking DA's are just a bunch of lawyers that no law firm would hire so the state dose. Thay have one thing on there mind convict ,convict ,convict no matter who the person is they want a convection so someday they can sit on the bench and do the ame thing. We have a women judge in town who use to be a commonwealth attorney with a high convection rate. Now she is a judge and every person who goes in front of her is found guilty, hell a large group of lawyers wrote a letter abt her some yrs ago and the bitch is still there, collecting money for the state.Just a bunch of dick heads and currupt as could be. VA is becoming a police state, fast. MM
